Feminization relies on inducing a female plant to produce pollen. To make feminized thc seeds, breeders treat a selected female with colloidal silver or silver thiosulfate, which suppresses ethylene and triggers the growth of male flowers. Pollen collected from that plant carries only female chromosomes and is used to fertilize another female. The resulting offspring inherit no male chromosome, which is why almost all of them grow as females.
