Summary
Our client, a leading consultancy in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Manager – Accounting and Finance to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial accounting, technical expertise in IFRS and IPSAS, and a passion for driving impactful client outcomes.
As the Assistant Manager, you will lead medium-scale projects, contribute to client engagements, and mentor junior team members while supporting clients across various industries. This is a key role in enhancing client relationships and delivering high-quality financial advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage small to medium-sized projects or work-streams, including data analysis, report drafting, and client meetings.
- Engagement Planning: Develop work plans, manage timelines, allocate resources, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Client Interaction: Act as a trusted advisor, liaising effectively with clients and representing the firm in engagements.
- Deliverables Ownership: Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of engagement outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Documentation: Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals with high precision and minimal guidance.
- Industry Expertise: Build knowledge of various industries, markets, and client sectors, including energy, healthcare, financial services, and the public sector.
- Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities, making strategic recommendations to help clients achieve their goals.
- Team Development: Foster a positive learning environment, coaching and mentoring junior team members.
- Business Development: Contribute to thought leadership, practice management, and the firm’s business growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CFA.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in Big Four firms or similar organizations.
- Expertise in technical accounting standards (IFRS, IPSAS) and finance business processes.
- Strong awareness of non-technical accounting topics (e.g., corporate finance, ESG, tax).
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP and analytical tools such as Oracle, SAP, Power BI, Visio, and Blueworks is preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective presentation skills to articulate complex concepts succinctly.
